The recently announced Canada Digital Adoption Program from the Government of Canada will help Canadian small and medium-sized businesses grow their online presence and upgrade or adopt digital technologies. This investment will provide $4 billion over four years, and will support up to 160,000 small businesses across Canada. Small and medium-sized enterprises can assess their digital readiness and apply for grants and loans online. This funding can be used to leverage e-commerce opportunities, upgrade or adopt digital technologies, and digitize your operations to stay competitive and meet your customers’ needs in the digital marketplace. Depending on your size, specific needs, and goals, businesses can apply for funding through two streams: Grow Your Business Online or Boost your Business Technology. Under the ‘Grow your Business Online’ stream eligible businesses will receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to help with the costs related to adopting e-commerce and be supported by a network of e-commerce advisors. Under the ‘Boost your Business Technology’ stream eligible businesses will receive grants of up to $15,000 help you develop a digital plan, and leverage funded work placements to help with your digital transformation. |
